My tax check came in and my first name was slightly misspelled...is this a big deal?

Its Cassandra but they wrote it to Casandra. I'm sure the bank will still cash it but should I alert the IRS? Does it make a difference?

Did you efile? If so, it's probably your error, or your preparer/s.





Cash the check and don't worry about it. If it were your last name, it could be a problem, but not the first name. Don't worry about it.
Reply:Just cash it. Next year, e-file -- then they won't have a chance to misspell it when they are keypunching your data.
