I am confused as to how to fill a form. My name is Mei line Pippy and my surname is Chen. Which should be the first name and last name???

In English speaking countries. The first name is the given name and the second name is the family name. I know this is the opposite of the oriental languages.





Your records would be filed among other people's with the family name of Chen. Then by your given, more specific name, Mei line Pippy.





Westerners are used to the family being second. When some asks for your first or second name, tell them that your family name is Chen. It will be less confusing for them.
