I believe the name to be of probably German origin, but web searches have not turned up much information. It is a male first name, but I have found little detail on its origins.
What is the origin of the first name 'Servig'?
Von Ehrlichman is certainly a Germanic surname. Servig seems a little odd though for a German. It has an old Prussian, (the area that is now northwestern Poland, but used to be part of Germany pre-WWI.) look to it. My guess is his first name is rooted in Old Prussia, or possibly a Nordic origin like Denmark.

Ancestry.Com shows no origin but Servig immigrants sailed from LeHavre France.
The same surname can come from more than one nationality. The best thing to do is trace your family root. If you ever wish to do this there are a lot of people on this board that can give you some great ideas.
