I accidentally booked a flight to Iceland from Boston and swapped the first name and last name on the airline ticket. Will the customs/passport folks allow this to slide or will they even notice? The airline told me it would be $75/person to fix it.

The customs officer will notice this. They notice EVERYTHING. I think that you have made a $75 mistake. Next time, when you are reviewing your reservation, check your name as well as everything else.
